strategies for preventing and reducing female juvenile involvement in delinquency and violence.
Sponsored by DCJ’s Delaware Girls Initiative, the forum will feature presentations of the work of the
Girls Study Group, which completed a three-year study, funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention.
Presenters:
Dr. Margaret Zahn, Acting Deputy Director of the Research and Evaluation Division of the National
Institute of Justice, and Dr. Diana Fishbein, the study’s researcher on issues of brain development.
The forum is free, includes lunch, and an afternoon showing of the documentary film GIRL TROUBLE,
which features the stories of three female adolescents in San Francisco’s juvenile justice system.
One of the film’s participants will be attending for a question-and-answer session at the conclusion
of the film.
